BIOGRAPHY
Joaquin
Belamoore was raised in the farmlands surrounding Dalaran, and as a youth, he
was mesmerized by the subtle art of the arcane. He began at a young age to study
simple magics, and when he reached his age of ascension, he applied for
apprenticeships throughout Dalaran, certain that his skill would assure him his
choice of placements.
Joaquin was
disappointed. The magi of Dalaran, wary of his arrogance and his reckless,
unsupervised studies, universally turned him away. Crushed, Joaquin convinced
himself that the magi were fearful of his talents, and he continued his studies
alone. He began to wander Lordaeron, picking up magical items and books whenever
he could.
He grew
greatly in power, but without being tempered by authority, he grew ever more
corrupted. He began to think himself above the mere mortals who surrounded him,
and he slipped into a brooding depression, feeling outcast by his obvious
superiority. Until he found Vexra.
Vexra
Darkfall was a hedge mage as well, and, like him, her training had driven her to
become a sociopath. Attracted to each other's vast powers and limitless
depravity, they became inseparable. It was then that the killings began. Joaquin
and Vexra began traveling the countryside, brutally murdering innocents with
their spells. Joaquin found himself drawn to the cold precision of frost magic,
while Vexra bathed in the raw power of the arcane. Together, they became among
the most notorious serial killers in all of Lordaeron's history.
The
magistrates of Tarren Mill, Hillsbrad, and Southshore pooled their resources and
offered a hefty reward for the capture of the magi. Though many rangers died
trying to apprehend them, eventually they succeeded in subduing first Vexra, and
then Joaquin himself some weeks later.
Joaquin was
deemed psychotic and sentenced to death, until the Kirin Tor intervened. They
believed that the magi had arranged to become powerful undead creatures known as
liches in the event of their deaths, and as a cautionary measure, Joaquin was
turned over to the Kirin Tor to be imprisoned in Falgatha Hold, an advanced
magical prison specifically designed for cases such as his; magi who were
potentially more dangerous dead than alive.
As he was
being transported, however, Joaquin's caravan was waylaid by a Scourge raiding
party, and all present were killed. Joaquin and his captors rose as mindless
servants of the Lich King.
Joaquin
carried out his duties to the Scourge without question until finally he was
freed by the dark call of Lessa the Awakener. But when she was finished, she
realized who he was, and had him shackled and transported to the Banshee Queen.
Sylvanas offered Joaquin a deal. She would pardon him for his crimes if he would
serve the purposes of the Forsaken. In exchange, he could test his magical might
on whatever foes she directed him at. He pledged his loyalty to the Forsaken,
and adopted the name Winterbone. His charm and talents quickly garnered him a
reputation amongst the Forsaken as a ruthless champion for their cause.
Though he
completed every task set for him without complaint, he secretly worked towards
finding Vexra and rebuilding his power.

ROTWAKE
THE GRINNING
Skeletal Horse
Assembled by the Royal Apothecary Society from the remains of several
different horses, Rotwake the Grinning was expertly built, and Sylvanas
had him given to Joaquin after they had struck their deal. |

DELIRIUM
Bombay
Delirium was a prized black cat of a wealthy family of millers in
Pyrewood Village. While Bombays of her calibre were more common in the
south, few were born in Lordaeron without minor imperfections, even a
single white hair could diminish their value considerably. When Joaquin
learned of her existence, he decided that no other animal was fit to be
his familiar. He and Vexra murdered the millers, and he claimed Delirium
as his own. After his capture, however, Delirium was traded amongst the
people of Southshore until she found herself in the care of the Weeks
family. After returning as a Forsaken, Joaquin tracked Delirium down,
slaughtered the Weeks family, and reclaimed her. |

VEXRA
DARKFALL
Undead Mage
Born to peasants in Vandermar Village, at an early age, Vexra
demonstrated sadistic cruelty and contempt for those around her. She
knew she was destined for greater things. When a group of traveling
sorcerers stayed the night at the village inn, Vexra stole one of their
spellbooks, and began to experiment with magic. She took to it with
amazing clarity, and left Vandermar to pursue her craft more fervently.
Vexra trained with any wizards who lacked the vision to see her for what
she was. Some, she killed. After she met Joaquin they began spreading
their murderous crusade throughout Lordaeron. After she was captured,
she was delivered to Falgatha Hold. Since the invasion of the Scourge,
however, Falgatha had not contacted the outside world for many years... |
