BIOGRAPHY

Inlokta was a proud warrior of the Harpyslayer tribe, nestled in the Stonetalon Mountains in Camp Aparaje. Though constantly engaged in battle with the harpies under the clever Sister Riven, life was good and the tribe prospered. When word came of the Bloodhoof Tribe's alliance with the Horde, and the call for all the tribes to come under a single banner, Durn Harpyslayer, the tribe's chieftain, was uncertain of this course of action, but respected Cairne's wisdom and pledged his support to the Horde.

Some time later, word again came to the Harpyslayers, but this time that a new school of druidism had begun under the gaze of Hammuul Runetotem. The Harpyslayers had a begrudging peace with the night elves, but did not fully trust them, and Durn was again reluctant. Inlokta volunteered to investigate this new magic, and learn of its teachings as best he could.

Inlokta traveled to Thunder Bluff and trained under the Runetotems for several years, and found the druidic arts  helped him commune with the Earth Mother to an extent he had never before dreamed possible. He became a Druid of the Claw. He used his restorative druid powers to heal the land, and took the form of a mighty, savage bear to defend it. Finally, Inlokta decided that the time had come to return to Aparaje. He was greeted graciously by the tribe's elders, and was happy to be home.

During a ceremonial sweat with Durn and the tribe's elders, the Grimtotem tribe, under the command of Grundig Darkcloud, launched a devastating assault on Aparaje. Inlokta rushed into battle, using his druidic skills to battle the Grimtotem as a bear, but the Harpyslayers were overwhelmed. Durn was killed, and Inlokta, grievously wounded, was taken to the forests to be killed.

At the last moment, however, one of his would-be executioners turned on his comrades, and though wounded in the battle, he and Inlokta managed to subdue the Grimtotem and fled into the mountains. His Grimtotem companion, Asatokwe, warned Inlokta that his kinsmen would notice his absence, and would come after them, for not only could Asatokwe and Inlokta both reveal the treachery of the Grimtotem to the other tribes, but Asatokwe knew many of their most secret plans, and that information was so valued that the Grimtotem would not stop until they were dead.

FRIENDS AND FOES

DURN HARPYSLAYER

Tauren Chieftain

Durn had been the elder chieftain of the Harpyslayers for nearly forty years. Though the Stonetalon Mountains were a harsh habitat, Durn led his people with clarity and justice, and under him they prospered. When Cairne Bloodhoof united the tauren tribes, Durn was at first hesitant, fearing the tribe would become a marginalized minority due to its remoteness and relatively small size. Nevertheless, he knew and respected Cairne, and followed his example. He sent Inlokta to learn the ways of the druids with Hamuul Runetotem in Thunder Bluff, and Durn was pleased with the wisdom he returned with. When the Grimtotem attacked, Durn leapt into battle and sent many of the dark tauren to meet their ancestors. He was finally challenged by Grundig Darkcloud, and though Durn was victorious in their duel, Grundig ordered his forces to finish Durn, and he was executed.

SISTER RIVEN

Harpy Matriarch

The harpies of Stonetalon were opportunistic and brutal, and in the unforgiving wilds, they needed a keen mind to have any hope of survival. Sister Riven, the leader of the Mountaingale harpies, was no exception. The Mountaingales battled the tauren, wyverns, and wildlife for territory and resources in the Stonetalon Mountains, and under Riven's leadership managed to acquire holdings around the precious Mirkfallon Lake. And injury incurred during a raid on the Harpyslayers - the Mountaingales' hated and ancient enemy - put Riven on the defensive until she could function properly again.
