BIOGRAPHY
Ijunte was
born and raised by the Darkspear Tribe during its exile. Though noted by her
elders as a clever and bright young troll, Ijunte never found any solace in the
religious practices of the jungle trolls, and her lack of interest held her back
from advancing to positions of power within the tribe she might have otherwise
attained. Few of her tribesmen shared her perspective. Among them was Mau'zashu.
They fell in love.
Though their
beliefs made things difficult for them, they earned their place within the tribe
by studying magic to the most that their resources would allow. Ijunte became an
enchantress of excellent repute, and Mau'zashu became a capable wizard.
Joining the
Horde was an excellent opportunity for both of them. The exposure to other
cultures allowed Ijunte and Mau'zashu to better pursue their own beliefs without
being harried by the restrictions of the Darkspear Tribe, and the libraries of
the orcs and tauren allowed them to better research their callings.
During a
magical experiment, however, Mau'zashu was inexplicably turned into a frog. When
Ijunte could not account for the error, she began pursued the matter abroad. She
visited with the greatest magical minds of the Forsaken, the most celebrated
enchanters of the orcs and tauren, and even learned the language of the humans
and, after arrangements had been formalized, met with Jaina Proudmoore in
Theramore. All had the same response - the process was impeccable, everything
should have worked, there was no reason for Mau'zashu's fate to have occurred.
Having
exhausted all other avenues, Ijunte reluctantly turned to her own people, and
sought out the foremost witches of the Darkspear Tribe. The Weirs Sisters: Deino,
Enyo, and Pephredo. The Weird Sisters informed her that they had received word
of her coming long ago by the Primal Gods, and had waited long for her arrival.
They told her that the Primal Gods had grown displeased with Ijunte and
Mau'zashu, and told her that she would be tried. She would walk the path of fire
and only then would Mau'zashu be restored.
In response
to those visions, Pephredo took Ijunte on as her student, and taught her the
ways of the pyromancer. Ijunte learned to create and control magical fire, and
set out into the world to use her powers against those who would oppose the
Primal Gods.
Ijunte
travelled the world, with Mau'zashu always at her side, and attempted to earn
the favour of the Primal Gods. Her travels took her to Yojamba Isle, where she
met Jin'zolo and battled the Gurubashi at his side. She helped him and Sen'zir
Beastwalker bring down the High Priestess Hai'watna.

ZALLAGRA
Olive Raptor
Zallagra had been tamed by Ijunte and Mau'zashu several years before the
Darkspears joined the Horde. Though Mau'zashu handled her with ease,
Zallagra always gave Ijunte trouble. This continued after Mau'zashu was
transformed into a frog, however she seemed to be able to recognize him
despite his transformation. When travelling with Ijunte, Mau'zashu will
often sit on Zallagra's back, and his presence seems to calm Zallagra
enough for Ijunte to direct her. |

MAU'ZASHU
Jungle Troll Mage / Frog
Mau'zashu was another cynic of the trolls' superstition and religion,
and found in Ijunte a kindred spirit. They became mates and began
working together to earn their way, but during a magical experiment
Mau'zashu was transformed into a frog. Ijunte began to work to restore
him by earning the favour of the Primal Gods. Ijunte at first had her
teacher Pephredo keep Mau'zashu as she was preparing to leave Orgrimmar,
but Pephredo, being blind, was a poor warden and Mau'zashu managed to
escape twice. Fearing that he would get into trouble trying to track her
down once she started travelling abroad, Ijunte was forced to take him
with her. He often accompanies her even into battle. |
