BIOGRAPHY
Evindath
Sunchaser was born in Fairbreeze Village to a family of rangers with long ties
to the Farstriders. Though Evindath found no love or talent for the rangers'
ways, being raised amongst them gave him, in his youth, an abiding love for the
forests of his homeland, and as he matured, this grew into a love of botany.
Evindath studied under some of the foremost authorities on botany and soon
became a reputed scholar in such circles himself.
Evindath
traveled the breadth of the East with teams of other botanists to study the
properties of plants across their continents, and he would later be credited
with helping to discover the formulae for a number of useful potions and
elixirs.
When the
Second War arrived on the doorstep of Quel'Thalas, however, Evindath knew that
scholarly pursuits were of little use to them. He enlisted to be trained as a
magister and soon learned enough of the art to wield destructive magics against
the Horde. Though their campaign was largely unsuccessful, Evindath dazzled many
of his generals with his display of arcane ingenuity. After the war, many
notable archmagi offered him full-time apprenticeships. Evindath respectfully
declined, and returned instead to his botanical studies.
Evindath was
studying abroad in Southshore during Arthas' quick but devastating invasion of
Quel'Thalas, and Evindath eventually met up with Prince Kael's forces in Dalaran
and joined the battle once again. Kael had founded a new study of magic in the
fall of Quel'Thalas, a much more reckless but considerably more effective
approach to magical study, practitioners of which were known as blood magi. When
advised of Evindath's adeptness to magic during the Second War, Capernian placed
him under the apprenticeship of Evindath's cousin, Tyoril Sunchaser, who had
been one of Kael's first students. As the blood elves fought under Kael, he
encountered and befriended the engineer Zandrathis Sheynathren. After working
together, they fell in love.
Evindath's
powers flourished under Tyoril's tutelage, but by the time Kael's forces crossed
over to Outland, his training was still incomplete, and with Outland vast array
of strange new plants to study, Evindath removed himself from Tyoril's
mentorship, and returned to botany once again.
Zandrathis,
in the meantime, had become cold and distant. Though this was in truth due to
the magical withdrawal she felt, Evindath became convinced she was having an
affair, and he broke things off with her.
After the
blood elves claimed Tempest Keep, Evindath came to lead a number of different
research teams in the Botanica. Freywinn was particularly fond of Evindath, as
scarce other elves were as enthused of his discoveries as he. Freywinn began to
regard Evindath as a friend as well as a colleague, and Evindath was happy to
have his affections.
Nevertheless, Capernian was not so easily placated. She felt that Evindath's
potential as a blood mage was being wasted in the Botanica on a task she
believed anyone could perform, and took every opportunity to make a play for
Evindath to join the magisters. Her most successful attempt arose when Kael
proposed a three-man mission to sabotage the Exodar in preparation for a draenei
raid led by the Prophet Velen. Capernian immediately proposed Evindath, and
Freywinn was eager to afford such an opportunity to his favoured student.
Though vexed
that he would have to work alongside Zandrathis, Evindath put aside his contempt
for her and focused on his mission.

TALONSONG
Red Hawkstrider
Talonsong was amongst a clutch of hawkstrider eggs brought to Outland
with Kael and his elven forces. He was raised and pronounced fit for use
just as Evindath's mission was being coordinated, and was chosen by
Capernian to serve as Evindath's mount. When travelling abroad, Evindath
would keep him unadorned, but when in elven lands, he decked Talonsong
in ornate armour to command the respects of his kinsmen. Talonsong grew
fond of Zandrathis' hawkstrider, Ventaxia, but her brooding disposition
apparently disconcerted him. If stabled together, he would attempt to
sleep as far from Ventaxia as his confines would allow. |

TYORIL
SUNCHASER
Blood Elf Blood Mage
Tyoril Sunchaser was one of Kael's earlier students in the dangerous art
of the blood magi. Tyoril's unrelenting and reckless devotion to his
craft earned him high regards in Kael's eyes, and he soon had a
following of his own. Though cousin to Evindath, the two Sunchasers had
been only moderately acquainted for most of their lives. Capernian
advised Kael and Tyoril of Evindath's recorded success in the war with
the orcs, and so placed him under his cousin's tutelage. The two
Sunchasers took an immediate liking to each other, and even when
Evindath left his study after they crossed over to Outland, he and
Tyoril remained in close contact until Evindath left for his mission. |
