BIOGRAPHY
Denroibo was
born to a duo of gnomish submariners shortly before the Second War. During one
of the naval battles of the war, the vessel his parents piloted was destroyed,
and he was left an orphan. He has no memories of his parents.
Raised as a
ward of Gnomeregan, Denroibo grew up as something of an outcast. With little
interest in either technology or magic, he found little common ground with his
fellow gnomes. He instead filled his days by concocting wild stories of high
adventure and intrigue to entertain his companions. When he was a teenager, he
whittled a makeshift piccolo and garnered a reputation for brightening dwarven
taverns with his song, music, and dance.
Though this
made him well-liked by his neighbours, Denroibo still felt like he wasn't truly
a part of them. He earned his way doing odd jobs, mostly sending packages and
messages throughout Dun Morogh.
When the
trogg invasion of Gnomeregan began, Denroibo took up whatever was at hand and
joined the cause. He was given a crash-course in roguery and let loose upon the
troggs. Denroibo would win no dueling contests, but he held his own, to be sure.
When the
gnomes were forced to flee their city, Denroibo traveled about Dun Morogh
briefly, but realized that he had nothing truly keeping him there. He packed up
his things, took to the road, and never looked back.
At first
Denroibo remained in Khaz Modan, fighting the troggs abroad, but he found he had
developed something of a wanderlust, and that as sad as he was for losing
Gnomeregan, he felt no thirst for vengeance or vendetta against the troggs. He
expanded his journeys, and found a world full of marvels awaiting him. Having
only rarely and briefly ever leaving Dun Morogh in his lifetime, he was
intrigued by not only the strange and wonderful new creatures and cultures
waiting for him, but he found himself enraptured by the stories told by
adventurers abroad. He stayed in Booty Bay for nearly half a year, doing nothing
but listening to tavern patrons trade tales.
Denroibo
soon fell back into his old habits. Using his newfound combat skills, he was
able to earn a much better and much more interesting living, but his true
passion was for spinning tales and hearing them. And, of course, he was never
averse to whipping out his piccolo and dancing on a tabletop should the need
ever arise.

GIZ
(MX-450)
Mechanostrider
During the war in Gnomeregan, Denroibo and the tinker Milli
Featherwhistle were part of a small group of defenders who fortified a
building in the city and managed to keep it for two months. When they
ran out of supplies, they were forced to part ways, and Milli promised
all of them a discount on her mechanostriders should they survive. A
year later, the only other survivor, Denroibo, dropped in on her and
reminded her of her promise. Having forgotten about it, and now
regretful of making it, Milli sold him the MX-450, a terribly old model
of mechanostrider which she hadn't built for years. Only one remained
that would run at all. She sold the last MX-450 to Denroibo and he named
him Giz and painted him red. Giz and Denroibo have had a tumultuous
relationship with each other since; Giz constantly doesn't work, and
Denroibo constantly kicks Giz and tells him he's not working. |
